Born In Belfast, Beau’s family emigrated to Canada in 1978 to escape the Troubles in Northern Ireland. Raised on the East Coast of Canada and now based in Toronto, Beau has worked globally on both studio and independent productions.

With 20 years industry experience, Beau ascended the ranks quickly to become a 1st Assistant Director on features and pilots for Paramount (RED, Pet Sematary, Snake Eyes, Pet Sematary: 1969), A24 (The Witch, Hereditary, Midsommar), CBS, Disney, ABC, Universal and Netflix (Star Trek: Discovery, The Man In The High Castle, The Umbrella Academy).

Beau’s outstanding reputation within the industry garnered him the opportunity to work with rising stars in his directorial debut. His short film, CROSSMAGLEN, starring Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen’s Gambit) and Eoin Macken (La Brea) was produced by Lars Knudsen (Hereditary, Midsommar and The Northman) and shot by award winning cinematographer Christopher Blauvelt (Emma, Mid90s). CROSSMAGLEN premiered at Galway Film Festival and was shortlisted for the outstanding first film award at the 2020 IFTAs.

Beau’s relationships with studio and independent producers coupled with his directing skills showcased in Crossmaglen, allowed him the opportunity to Second Unit Direct on both installments of Paramount’s recently revived Stephen King franchise, Pet Sematary and the upcoming prequel, Pet Sematary: 1969. He has also co-produced several feature films, including the aforementioned Hereditary, Midsommar, and the upcoming Pet Sematary prequel.

Beau gained valuable directing experience working closely with and being mentored by visionary directors like Doug Liman, Phillip Noyce and Gavin Hood and has shepherded first time directors Robert Eggers for his celebrated film The Witch and Ari Aster’s Hereditary as well as Ari’s sophomore release, Midsommar.

Beau is prioritizing his goal of directing his first feature film. He has several scripts in active development.
